It seems all "the cool kids" these days are using a Project Life format. I decided to try this. Now that I am a single mom, I don't have as much time to devote to scrapbooking as I used to, and it seemed a little faster. I did not buy the "Project Life" kit. I have an entire room of scrapbooking supplies to use. I did go get some divided page protectors. I am using the page protectors by We R Memory Keepers and Doodle bug. I made some of my own journaling cards and I also downloaded some from 2peasinabucket.
I scrapped the whole month in 3 days.
January brought...
a New Year's Eve celebration with some of my friends, in which I drank fancy drinks and got fancy hair, my birthday, my niece's birthday, and a movie... That cupcake card is part of a birthday card that was given to me and I embellished with a sticker.
January also brought....
a snowstorm, and some time spent indoors!
After my first couple of pages, I decided I needed a "real" layout, so I documented my son and his ipod. This kid is a dancing fool! He boogies every day and he is quite good!
I used some papers I had from Echo Park. The set came with the snowflakes and journaling card. It also came with the "winter" strip sticker, which I stuck to the front of the page protector, rather than adding directly to the photos.
Finally, this is what else came in January...
a new polaroid camera! They were on sale and I couldn't resist. And...
our very first cub scout sleepover, in which we made marshmallow towers. Very fun.
Now that I am all caught up, I am looking forward to keeping up week by week. My first impressions are that 1) I need more page protectors, and 2) I need to be aware of the orientation of pictures I will need for each week.
Such great pictures and layouts! Welcome back to scrapbooking! TFS Nilsa
